Roof Top Living

Project Overview

When the sky is the limit, just do it. In this time of unique living choices and the growing demand for intown living, Pennant Construction Managements was given a blank canvas to help create “unique”. This underutilized building in the center of Rome’s Downtown had upper levels unused for decades and lower levels of aging retail. The first task was to construct a 2,000 square foot clerestory with a 1,000 square foot deck on the roof overlooking Broad Street. Once in place, levels of the building were cut out below to create this open multi-level experience. The 12,000 square foot loft doubles as an entertainment/event space and a residence. The street level contains one of Rome’s preferred fine dining establishments as well as two retail fronts which received facelifts as well to complete the project. From a distance, the project could be called historic preservation, commercial, residential, entertainment, dining, lifestyle and many other labels. Once experienced, this home in the clouds is simple “undeniably unique”.
