The Griffin Luxury Apartments & Retail

Project Overview

With a demand for downtown residential housing along Rome’s historic Broad Street booming, a local investor acquired the property and called upon Pennant Construction Managements experience to lead the project. Working within the parameters of the Department of Interiors Historic Tax Credit guidelines, the long-neglected buildings at 215 and 217 Broad Street began a march to excellence by subdividing the upper levels into fifteen living spaces and seven commercial spaces. All new mechanical systems were installed including installing solar panels on the roof for twenty-first century efficiency. Hardwood flooring and masonry walls were restored, cabinetry with granite tops and bathrooms with heated tile flooring were installed. No intown apartment living would be completed without a covered roof top sitting area and an open deck overlooking Broad Street. Pennant Construction Managements assistance in the historic reservation and repurposing of the former Griffin Hardware Company and Wyatt Book Store buildings will long leave an impact in Downtown Rome.
