The Vogue

Project Overview

Constructed in the 1890’s, 247 Broad Street had seen a series of uses over its first century before falling into disrepair in the 2000’s. A partnership between a Rome businessman and a legendary Rome Restauranter created a vision for a beautiful high end event space in the heart of the historic district. Pennant Construction Management, Inc. was secure to take the shell of the building through the process of structural stabilization to its eloquent use as a 300-person venue. Masonry was stabilized and steel supports added under the second level to allow for large parties to enjoy the upper-level dance floor, historic window openings were re-established, hardwoods refinished, and interior details installed. A full caterer’s kitchen with a dumb waiter servicing the second level was constructed to service multi-level functions. New mechanical systems installed include electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire suppression. The front façade and entrance were re-established to their more historic appearance. What is in a name? More like what was behind the façade. Upon removing the metal installed over the 1960’s store front, the original neon “Vogue” sign was uncovered thus leading to its restoration and naming of the new event venue in the iconic historic building.
